Georgia Tech vs Virginia Tech Football 2011

23231_11_10_2011_AFOOTE

I apologize for the relatively short post.  The end of the school semester is approaching, and as a result, homework, projects, and studying consume every single minute of my day.

Georgia Tech (#21) played Virginia Tech (#10) last Thursday night in front of a white-out crowd at Bobby Dodd Stadium on ESPN. Every since the ACC Coastal has existed, this match-up has determined who represents the Coastal Division in the ACC Championship game, and this year was no different.

Georgia Tech vs Clemson Football 2011

Two things about me: White and Gold are my favorite colors, and I believe in miracles. And I saw a helluva lot of both on Saturday night in Bobby Dodd Stadium!

For Georgia Tech’s Homecoming, GT hosted the #5 and undefeated Clemson Tigers during the primetime spot on ABC. Clemson has been on the rise with probably the most explosive offense in all of college football, while Georgia Tech had played sub-par its past two games and lost both times.

Photo Collage

24994_10_24_2011_AFOOTE

Ever since getting into photography, it’s taken me awhile to figure out a creative way to display my work throughout my apartment. I finally decided on a number of “themed” photo collages/murals around my room. I’ve been building on them and creating new ones for the past 2 years. I recently had some more photos printed over the summer and just got a chance to add some more to the collage (a very daunting task).

I just recently purchased a fisheye lens to complete my lens collection (for now…), so the collage provided a good excuse to test it out on!

Georgia Tech vs Maryland Football 2011

24611_10_8_2011_AFOOTE

The next challenge up for Georgia Tech was Maryland who has been highly inconsistent in their play so far, beating Miami and then being embarrassed by Temple. With a win, GT would be 6-0 for the first time since 1966, and the first team to be bowl eligible this season. This was a nice change in comparison to last year when our bowl eligibility came down to the last season game. And what made it even better, (despite being much closer than expected) GT was able to come out with a win.

Georgia Tech vs N.C. State Football 2011

24405_10_1_2011_AFOOTE

I was fortunately able to make the trip up to Raleigh, NC this weekend to shoot GT’s first ACC away game against N.C. State. The game was expected to be a blow-out in favor of GT based on N.C. State’s disappointing performance from the previous week.  However, in my opinion, this was not a “gimme” game since it was at N.C. State, and you can never count out a team fueled by desperation.

Georgia Tech vs UNC Football 2011

Happy 50th Birthday to the Ramblin Wreck!

#24 Georgia Tech opened up ACC play against #25 UNC and faced their first true test of the season. Going into the game, UNC had the #7 ranked defense in the nation with one of their defensive lineman projected to be the #2 overall draft pick for the 2012 NFL Draft and 9 others projected picks as well. It wasn’t the prettiest game due to all of the turnovers, but GT definitely came out with a dominant performance and won 35-28.

Georgia Tech vs Kansas Football 2011

23192_9_17_2011_AFOOTE

To say Georgia Tech destroyed Kansas is quite the understatement. I’m thinking more along the lines of obliteration or annihilation. Some people may have felt bad for Kansas; I didn’t. Our loss to them last year is what started the downward spiral of losing that concluded in our first losing season since 1995. Most people were worried since Kansas is being touted as a much better team than last year. However, the Yellow Jacket fans were calling for Jayhawk blood, and Coach Paul Johnson delivered.

Georgia Tech Alumni Association: Burdell-Phoenix Dinner

22812_9_8_2011_AFOOTE

This past week I got called up last minute to fill-in for a fellow Technique photographer to shoot a dinner event for the Georgia Tech Alumni Association. The dinner was held at the Local Three Kitchen & Bar located on Northside Parkway. Some of the most successful people from the GT community were in attendance, so it was an honor for me to shoot the event and meet many of them.

Maybe I’ll be one of them in a decade or two…. ;)

Georgia Tech vs Western Carolina Football 2011

22420_9_1_2011_AFOOTE

Georgia Tech opened the football season against the Western Carolina University Catamounts at Bobby Dodd Stadium this past Thursday. This was my first chance to actually be on the field and shoot a football game since I started shooting for the Technique! I should be shooting just about every home game this season, so be sure to check back every week for more photos.

Georgia Tech Football: Pre-season Scrimmages

17691_4_23_2011_AFOOTE1

In honor of Georgia Tech football starting back up in less than a week, I thought I’d put together a compilation of shots from preseason scrimmages that I’ve attended. This will include the T-Day: Gold vs White Spring Scrimmage, as well as the Fall Practice Scrimmage #1 and #2.

GT opens the season on Thursday, September 1st at 7:30PM at Bobby Dodd Stadium against Western Carolina. Look for me, I’ll be on the field!

This past weekend I got the opportunity to shoot a very exciting ultimate frisbee match at Piedmont Park. The match featured all-star team, NexGen, battling against Atlanta’s local ultimate team, Chain Lightning.

NexGen is touring around the country featuring some of the best ultimate players from around the world. Be sure to check out their upcoming schedule and go see them in action if they’re coming to a city near you. You won’t be disappointed!

Welcome!

Welcome everyone!

Welp, I’ve finally broken down and made some time over the summer to put together this revolutionary site (kidding, of course…except the photos will actually be revolutionary). Hopefully this will be the first post of many to keep you all up to date on my upcoming photo endeavors.

Go ahead, take a look around and enjoy!

…and then come back tomorrow and do it all over again ;)
